Join our Cultural Awareness Workshop to enhance your ability to connect with and deliver effective services to ethnically minority communities, including Muslim, Refugee, Pasifika, Filipino, and African groups. This workshop is informed by individuals with lived experiences.

Workshop Delivery:

• Duration: 4.5hours
• Format: In-person with interactive speakers, exercises, and discussions
• Environment: Safe space for questions and real-life examples on improving services through cultural knowledge

Learning Outcomes:

• Cultural awareness within the NZ context, Inclusion & Diversity
• Understanding Racism
• Addressing Stereotyping, Privilege & Power, Unconscious Bias
• Effective Communication: Verbal and nonverbal for ethnic groups
• Cultural Practices & Traditions impacting interactions(Refugees/Muslim, Pasifika, African, Filipino,NZ)

Our Experience:

Our team of 6 experienced nurses and teachers have worked extensively with ethnically minority communities in Dunedin. We aim to assist services, understand community needs and build confidence within communities.
